Tree service pros near Indianapolis

Sorted by distance

Where this comes from. Every company here is a real tree service Google lists as operating within 25 miles of downtown. Ratings, review counts, hours and photos are Google’s, not ours. The quote on each card is that company’s review closest to its own average — not its best one.

How matching works

About a minute
  1. Tell us about the tree

Five questions: what needs doing, how soon, how big it is, what’s around it, and whether the stump goes too. No email, no account.

  2. A person picks the crew

Not an algorithm and not an auction. Someone reads it and sends it to the one company whose equipment and service area fit — one pro, not nine.

  3. They call you with a price

You deal with the tree service directly from there. The estimate is free and you’re never charged — the company pays us, and only when we send them real work.

What does tree removal cost around Indianapolis?

Most removals land between $400 and $1,900, and the metro average sits near $700. Height drives it — a 20-footer runs a few hundred, an 80-foot oak over a roof runs into four figures. Anything a truck can’t reach adds 25–50%. Any site quoting you one number without seeing the tree is guessing.

How fast can somebody come out?

For a normal job, most crews here are quoting within a few days and working within one to two weeks. Spring and post-storm weeks run longer. 42 of the 78 companies on this list answer emergency calls, so if a tree is down on the house right now, say so in the first question and it goes to one of those.

Is the company insured?

Ask for a certificate before anybody climbs. You want general liability and workers’ comp, and you want it sent from the insurer, not a photo of a card. If someone gets hurt in your yard working for an uninsured outfit, that can land on your homeowner’s policy.

Does the stump come out too?

Usually not unless you ask. Grinding is a different machine and often a separate trip, so it’s quoted separately — which is why the flow asks. Getting both on one visit is normally cheaper than booking it later.

Do I need a permit?

On private property in most of Marion County, no — but trees in the right-of-way between the sidewalk and the street are the city’s, not yours. Some suburbs and most HOAs have their own rules. A local crew will know; that is part of what “local” buys you.

What do you charge me?

Nothing. Homeowners never pay ProNearYou. Tree services pay us when we send them a real job, which is also why the list is sorted by distance and not by who pays — a paid position would make the sorting a lie.

What should you have ready when they call?

  • A photo of the tree with the house in frame for scale
  • Roughly how far it is from the house or the fence
  • Whether a truck can get into the yard
  • Whether there are power lines near it
  • Whether you want the stump gone

Having these five ready is usually the difference between a real number on the phone and a second trip out to look at it.
